B.W. Furlong & Associates is an equine veterinary practice headquartered in Oldwick, NJ. The practice employs 15 veterinarians that practice in the Northeast, as well as 3 that practice in Florida and Virginia under the name Peak Performance Equine Services. It is an extremely fast-paced and busy practice, serving and caring for some of the most prestigious clientele in the country. The main practice consists of a full service ambulatory division, as well as a 4 acre facility that houses a full service 12 stall hospital, isolation barn, lab, and advanced imaging capabilities. It also has separate properties that include a standing MRI and a rehabilitation center. Employees of the company are all expected to demonstrate the core beliefs.
Responsibilities & Expectations
The administrative assistant will provide support to Services (Lab & Pharmacy) and Client Relations departments on a daily basis. General support will include mailing, scanning, filing, and copying documents, and ongoing maintenance of digital and hard copy files. Time spent supporting the lab will primarily consist of submitting Health Certs, Coggins, and Vaccine records to clients, as well as data entry in client management software. Support for client relations will involve updating medical records, including pre-purchase forms, images, etc. Additional support will include assisting with end of month process.
The candidate will be able to work very effectively on computers, and ideally be familiar with Google Business Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets) and/or ImproMed Equine. Candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both via tele-communication (email, chat, phone) and in-person. The candidate will have good time management and multi-tasking skills, and be energized by working in a fast-paced, team focused environment. Candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be a very quick learner. Experience with horses or working in a animal hospital setting is preferred but not required.
Hours are Monday-Friday, 9a-4p. Competitive hourly compensation is offered for this role.
