B.W. Furlong and Associates, also the home of Equine MRI of New Jersey, Furlong’s Soundness Center, and Peak Performance Equine Services, is an exclusively equine practice consisting of fifteen full time veterinarians, including a Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist and a Board Certified Surgeon. We have been providing high level veterinary care for over 30 years in both the hospital and ambulatory setting. Our ambulatory coverage is available year round in New Jersey and in Ocala, Florida, as well as seasonally available in Wellington, Florida, Middleburg, Virginia and at major show circuits. Our 18 stall clinic includes a jog strip and lunging area, surgery suite, nuclear scintigraphy suite, clinical laboratory, isolation barn, and treatment areas. Our offsite locations include an elective surgical facility, standing MRI building, and a 12 stall rehabilitation center.

Practice ProfileAmbulatory services are available year round in the larger New Jersey area, including Eastern Pennsylvania and the southern part of New York, and are also provided year round in Ocala, Florida. Seasonal ambulatory services are available in Wellington, Florida, Middleburg, Virginia, and at major show circuits. Our veterinarians provide a number of services in the ambulatory setting. Services include traditional ambulatory wellness care, such as physical examinations, vaccination and dentistry, as well as performance evaluation, lameness exams and pre-purchase exams. Advanced diagnostic imaging modalities, such as digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and gastroscopy are available, as well as advanced therapies, including shock wave therapy, and regenerative medicine. Acupuncture and chiropractic services are also provided by several of our veterinarians. Our ambulatory veterinarians provide emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our hospital, located in Oldwick, NJ, has 14 stalls, including separate spaces for outpatients and isolation cases. Services provided exclusively in the hospital setting include advanced diagnostic imaging, including nuclear scintigraphy and standing MRI, and regenerative laser therapy. Routine out-patient exams and procedures, including lameness evaluation and treatment, are provided at the hospital. Internal medicine services include evaluation and treatment for many disorders, including respiratory, neurologic, ophthalmic, gastrointestinal or cardiac concerns. Reproductive and neonatal services are also provided in the hospital. Surgical services include arthroscopy, laparoscopy, complicated wound management, colic surgery and fracture repair. Emergency medical and surgical services are provided at the hospital 24 hours a day. Patients requiring hospitalization are overseen by a Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist or Board Certified Surgeon, and 24-hour care is provided by a team of dedicated intern veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
